This article about headache cures
is appealing for those interested about this topic is written by Andy Maingam

I can't think of anything worse than a headache that just wont shift. I used to
suffer from migraines when I was younger too, but thank god I grew out of these
debilitating attacks. I would say that Migraine headaches are the worst of the
worst as they often include stomach cramps, vomiting, and sensitivity to light
and sound. Headache cures for migraines back in the 1960's were treated simply
by sleeping them out in a dark, quiet room with a couple of aspirins, if your
stomach could hold them down.
I still get headaches today, and although not to the intensity of a migraine, they are most unpleasant nonetheless. Quite often I get a dull to sharp pain covering a hand sized area over my right eye and forehead. These unpredictable pains make me restless, irritable and discontent. Usually, a couple of over-the-counter pain killers together with an hour's kip will do the trick, but not always. However, I've learnt to reduce the amount of headaches I get nowadays thanks to a bit of help and research.
Here are a couple of preventative measures for headaches that may be of use to you the reader. Firstly, I often got headaches because I was dehydrated. I never knew this until a doctor recently pointed it out. Quite often we ignore our bodies request for fluids. When you pee, it will give a good indication of how dehydrated you are becoming by its colour. The more orange the pee, the more you need to drink. So drinking plenty of fluids is a great preventative measure against many dull headaches.
Another thing to watch out for is if you tend to get over excited. Some folks are happy about something whereas others, like me, tend to get hyper about stuff, and this is another trigger for headaches. I simply make myself aware of joyful events and become mindful of my state of being. Learning to relax will balance your moods and with a little practice, you'll not hit those extreme emotions which can play havoc with those of us vulnerable to headaches.
Prevention is pretty useless though once you've actually got your throbbing pain, so let's move on to some headache cures. Firstly, if the over the counter medication is not working, talk to the pharmacist. Explain to him or her, the type of headaches you suffer from and they may be able to offer an alternative that is better suited to you condition. Pharmacists are well trained and know one heck of a lot more about medicine than many people give them credit for.
If you suffer regularly from headaches, do not be afraid to visit your doctor. I made this mistake, thinking that everyone gets headaches and assuming the doctor would be far too busy dealing with real illnesses than to worry about my annoyance. Wrong! Headaches are truly awful and if you suffer often, then you need professional help. There are all kinds of remedies these days for headache sufferers and particularly tension headaches which can be with some folks 24/7. But you have to see your doctor!
Natural and alternative headaches cures are being tried and tested a too, and that includes anything from massage to Chinese herbs. Hop online and you will find lots of info on these and other headache cures on the web.
To summarize: Prevention is learning relaxation techniques, and to keep drinking lots of fluids (water in particular) Cures are trying different medicines (as advised by the pharmacist), alternative therapies (only as recommended by trained professionals), and doctors advice.
As always, prevention is better than cure, but if you can't prevent them then you need to treat them. Don't suffer in silence and don't overdo the pharmaceuticals. If you headaches are recurring then seek professional help.
